This Watch

We have here a NOS (New Old Stock) 1940s REDA Ancre 34mm Chromium case with lugs that flare out elegantly, giving a sophisticated look on the wrist. A small bezel encircles the domed crystal. Fine minute track crisply applied to the silver dial, Art Deco numerals perfectly inked in black with confident lines. Beautiful Lance hands heated blue and a sub-seconds at 6 o’clock finished a very legible dial. Inside a Manually wound AS Cal.1238 which has 15 Jewels and beats at 18,000 beats per hour. Fitted on a Swiss-made F & R stainless steel spring link bracelet with a satisfying fit. An unusual clasp with on the fly adjustment with a push of a fingernail the bar inside the clasp moves conveniently to the next position to make that fine adjustment.

Extra Points

Very little is known about the Reda watch co history. We purchased 40 of these in an original delivery box , all packed in greaseproof paper and totally unused! from a source in Switzerland who uncovered them from a vault safe in an old basement building in Switzerland. In our opinion The company 'Reda' were a small 1940s Swiss Sub brand , likely connected to one of the more mainstream makers. Delivery of this batch was possible halted dure to ww2, This batch is likely now the only in existence and we will list them as a multiple option as we have more than one in stock. The good grade swiss As calibers are serviced prior to sale and we will have one ready to post out in 48 hours.

This watch comes fully serviced by our on-site workshop and with a 12 month, non-waterproof service cover.

What an amazing find and an opportunity to own a 1940s fully unused Swiss wristwatch and do not underestimate the quantity of the bracelet too, A great introduction into the vintage watch world which will not Break the bank balance.
